Description

Case ref : G 203, case number 729 1505 41

Eta calibre 940.111

Diving dept to 100 mtr.

The ” Royal Quartz Kontiki ” was a true pioneer as the flattest wristwatch with electronic work in 1976. Its stainless steel case with insert stem and reflecting sapphire glasswas waterproof to a diving depth of 100 mtr. in spite of his flat design. The satinized steel band does have an invisible clasp. Eterna supplied each watch in individually series. The first one went to Dr Rudolf Schild-Comtesse. On my question to Eterna who was the designer they could not give me an answer because of its resemblance to the design of Gerald Genta models from that era, for example, the Audemars Piquet Royal Oak design not only for the case design but also for the striped dial design.

Dear Mr Wagenaar

I am sorry but we do not have any information’s about the designer of these two models nor in
our book nor our specialist knows something.

What I can tell you is that the timepiece with the case number 729 1505 41 has been manufactured
in 1979. The case is completely steel, also the medallion, and there is an ETA 940.111 movement
working in it.

I hope that helps.

Best regards
